The Liemandt Foundation's engagement in North Minneapolis has been broadened and deepened by the efforts of the Northside Funders Group (NSFG), consisting of 19 private, public, and corporate funders in north Minneapolis pushing beyond the traditional approach to grantmaking to strategically align investments for greater impact and to achieve real and sustainable change.

Minnesota’s achievement gap is consistently among the largest in the nation, with arguably the most significant impact hitting in North Minneapolis. Through the coordinated effort of over 60 organizations and schools in NAZ, the gap will be closed and replaced with a culture of high achievement. (Northside Achievement Zone)
